Some things have changed... Proven by REMO PARK and his Band with their newly released CD ,,AVIATOR is chasing time" (Limited signed edition order here). And REMO PARK's name is a piece of Berlin's independent history. It began in 1982. REMO PARK was guitarist in the Berlin cult-Band DIE HAUT. They put out a collection of famous LP's; such as SCHNELLES LEBEN; BURNING THE ICE (feat. NICK CAVE) and KARIBISCHER WESTERN (feat. LYDIA LUNCH). After touring with the likes of NICK CAVE, LYDIA LUNCH and BIRTHDAY PARTY he left DIE HAUT to work together with FRIEDER BUTZMANN/KAPIELSKI - both live and on the LP WAR PUR WAR. In 1989 he founded his own Band, at that time called REMO PARK & THE CHASM, and they released their first LP "LYING IN AMBUSH"(Limited signed edition order here) one year later. "AVIATOR is chasing time" is much harder and noisier than that LP. lt's like an industrial nightmare that bridges the old-world of the classic, handmade six-string instruments with the electronic revolution of the late 2Oth century.

Still lost in thought about the good old days despairing over the current state of musical affairs - well just consider the imminent FUTURE: REMO PARK and his solo debut "Lying in ambush" is a distinct break from his past. As a native of Berlin in an impending re-unified Germany he will now have to be recognized as a serious threat to the independent rnusic market. After his previous alliance as star guitarist with the Berliner instrumental group Die Haut' (numerous releases including "Burnin' the ice" with Nick Cave on vocals) REMO PARK, with his latest formation THE CHASM, has now opted for the wider HORIZONT. The album ,"Lying in ambush" presents a musical metropolis, a netherworld: ,,Shadows of shapes/ rush in the street/ mute silhouettes scramble in greed/ A Pyramid City set on deep chasm poles". An electro underground emerges, breathes, collides with soaring metal guitars of sheer virtuosity fuse together by an restless and determined voice: "creeping creature - tailing tension/ creeping creature - a scent of pulsation / creeping creature - a glimpse beyond the corner".

PARK reminds us of MINISTRY but the songs are variable and are not always fast. Tolerant fans would love the hard and thrashy guitars while neo-industrial supporters would love the variety of events. If you have ears you got to listen.
